Out of the Loop

Apparently on this class blog we "children" are supposed to befriend and then comment or like on eachother's pages. I have yet to find anyone else's blogs, and I'm positive no one has seen mine. So my search will go on.

This was tangent numero uno out of many more to come.

p.s. If anyone wants to they can follow me on twitter. If I have the link set up right. Or if anyone is able to read my post. Who knows?

Last Day of August

The month of August is coming to a close. It's kind of exciting though, because that mean's we've gotten past the first couple weeks of school. I am really looking forward to the weather changing because fall is my favorite season. It's not hot enough to sweat or cold enough to wear a coat. Also, I love the way the trees look and the smell of the air. Not only is it the weather that I love, fall contains a couple of my favorite holidays, which are Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Going back to my job, I worked last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It really isn't bad at all. The people are nice and the workload isn't too bad. The only thing I had a problem with was the 10 year old, 3 hour long orientation video. I sat in a room that was like a janitors closet watching a tiny television set. It was basically the most odd thing I've ever had to do.

August 26, 2011

The book that I read this week was The Magic Kingdom by Stanley Elkin. It is basically about a guy who's son had an illness and he became obsessed with trying to cure him, but he eventually died. His wife left him after his son's death and he was devasted. He then begins to become obsessed with terminally ill children and wanting to let them have fun instead of them spending their last hours in the hospital.

A few of sentences in the book stood out to me:
1. "Who dropped out of sleep into wakefulness-Eddy watching through his lashes-like synchronized swimmers" (page 97).
2. "She doesn't care what they say, sentiment is the only true breeding" (pages 81-82).

WEEKLY READING LOG
Pages this week: 104
Pages this semester: 104

This is the second week of my senior year and I still don't feel like I am a senior. I actually don't feel like I'm in school. This may be a cause of me not having to go to practice after school anymore because I quit cross country. Anyways, I have a pretty easy, adaptable schedule that isn't too challenging. Recently I have taken on a job at Coventry 13 Theatre and today, Friday, is my first day! I'm not exactly sure how it's going to be, but I'm hoping that it won't be dreadful. I'm a little scared to be honest because I've never had a job, so I'm not sure what to expect. So wish me luck!

first blog of the season

I'm not necessarily one to blog, i like to just keep it simple with Facebook and Twitter, so this will be a little new to me. I don't necessarily know exactly what to write about, so here goes. I am a senior, I have red hair, I like to run, and I recently just got a job. That is basically it. It's a pretty exciting life.
